Landry Shamet

Landry Shamet is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has also played for a number of teams including the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Phoenix Suns.

Landry Michael Shamet was born on March 13, 1997, in Kansas City, Missouri, United States of America. He stands 193 cm tall and his weight is listed at 86 kg. Shamet plays as a right-handed shooting guard.

Shamet's mother Melanie Shamet played volleyball at Boise State University.

His father Ron Davis, whom Shamet did not know about until he was a teenager and met for the first time in 2021, was a professional basketball player. Shamet's uncle Tyler was a positive influence in his life growing up.

High School and College Career

Shamet attended Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was coached by David Garrison. Later, he committed to play for the Wichita State University.

In 2017, he was named the MVC Freshman of the Year and the First-team All-MVC. Then in 2018, he was named to the First-team All-ACC.

Professional Career

Shamet was selected with the 26th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2018 NBA Draft. In 2019, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

In February 2019, Shamet was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He helped the Clippers reach the playoffs in both 2019 and 2020.

In November 2020, Shamet was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. In August 2021, Shamet was traded to the Phoenix Suns. He spent two seasons with the Suns from 2021 to 2023.

In June 2023, Shamet was traded to the Washington Wizards. As of 2024, he still pays for the Wizards.
