Alejandro Álex Abrines Redondo is a former Spanish ACB League and EuroLeague Basketball player representing Barcelona. At 6 feet 6 in, he plays the small forward and shooting guard positions. Abrines played in Clínicas Rincón and Unicaja between 2010 and 2012. He was traded to the FC Barcelona Spanish Club in July 2012. Abrines was picked for the 32nd overall pick in a 2013 NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder on June 27, 2013. He signed again with Barcelona from May 19, 2015, to 2019, and he was called The EuroLeague Rising Star in May 2016. He played for Barcelona four seasons, winning three club titles: a Spanish ACB Crown, one Spanish King's Cup, and a Spanish Supercup. Abrines left Barcelona on July 19, 2016.

The junior national team of Spain was played by Abrines. In 2011, he captured the FIBA European Under-18 Championship gold medal and was appointed to the all-tournament team and voted MVP of the tournament. In the FIBA European Championship of 2012, he also participated in the bronze medal. In 2016, with the Spanish Senior Basketball National Team, he earned a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics. He participated at EuroBasket 2017 as well.

Abrines signed the Oklahoma City Thunder on July 23, 2016. In the opening season on October 26, he made his debut for the Thunder. He scored up to three points in a 103-97 victory over the 76ers in Philadelphia. He finished with a career-best 18 points on the top of the New Orleans Pelicans on December 21, 2016, with his 121–110 victory. Abrines set a new career-high with 19 points in a 110–93 win over Los Angeles Lakers on February 24, 2017, when his first career started.

On December 9, 2017, Abrines scored a career-high 20 points for an overtime victory against the Memphis Grizzlies, starting instead of the wounded Paul George. On November 1, 2018, in a 111-07 win over Charlotte Hornets, Abrines had 25 points on five 3-pointers. Later that month, in a 124-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, the Abrine team scored 21 points off a career of seven points. The Thunder waived Abrines on February 9, 2019.
