Jewell Loyd is a professional basketball player who is recently playing for the WNBA team Seattle Storm as the Point Guard and Shooting Guard. Loyd was born and raised in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and was admitted to Niles West High School. She also attended Notre Dame when she was in college, and won the ESPN Women's College Basketball Player of the Year.
Career
Jewel Loyd entered the 2015 WNBA Draft and was selected first overall by the Seattle Storm, and secured the point guard position. In her first season, he played 34 games which earned her the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. By the following season, she became one of the team's star players and became the team's shooting guard with 16.5 points per game average.In 2017, her performance improved even more, especially on the offensive part, she scored 33 points in their match against the Phoenix Mercury. Even so, her performance was praised by the basketball commentators.
In 2020, her career was still loaded despite the pandemic, as her team went victorious after reaching the finals. They won the championship against Las Vegas Aces, which counts as her 2nd championship.
Apart from WNBA, she joined the Galatasaray basketball club in Turkey and Shanxi Flame in China.
