Damian Jones

Damian Jones is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. He plays in the National Basketball Association. In 2016, he was drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft, chosen by the Golden State Warriors. While with the Warriors, he helped the team win two NBA Championships in 2017 and 2018. He currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Damian William Jones was born on June 30, 1995, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the United States of America. He stands 208 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 111 kg. He is right-handed and he is a center.

While in college, he majored in Engineering Science. He has two brothers Darian and Darryl.

High School and College Career

He attended Scotlandville Magnet High School where he was named a four-star recruit. Jones went on to attend Vanderbilt University. There, he made it to the all-time blocks list of the school.

He was instrumental in bringing the team to their first NCAA Tournament from 2011 to 2012. In 2015 and 2016, he was named to the First-team All-ACC.

Professional Career

Jones was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Draft even though he had a right arm injury that needed surgery. He made his NBA debut on December 10, 2016, and made his playoff debut on April 19, 2017.

The Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers and won the 2017 NBA Championship. In the 2017-2018 Season, Jones played in 15 games. He had limited time on the court during the playoff but the Warriors had their second straight championship, earning him 2 NBA Championships with the Warriors.

From 2016 to 2018, he also played for the Santa Cruz Warriors.

In 2019, he signed with the Atlanta Hawks. From 2020 to 2024, he has jumped from team to team including the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He started playing for Cleveland in 2023.
