Victor Oladipo is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player. He last played in the National Basketball Association for the Miami Heat. He has also played for the Houston Rockets, Orland Magic, Indiana Pacers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Oladipo has been named an NBA All-Star twice. In 2018, he was also named the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

His parents are Nigerian immigrants. They both moved to the United States in 1985 and married in the country. He has a twin sister named Victoria.
He is a devout catholic and has a daughter named Naomi, born in 2022.
High School and College Career
He attended the DeMantha Catholic High School. By the time he was a senior, he was in the Top 60 of the recruits rankings in the United States. He committed to play for the University of Indiana. He stayed with the University from 201 to 2013.
While playing college basketball, he was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He was also awarded the Adolph Rupp Trophy and was named the Sporting News Player of the Year.
Professional Career
He joined the NBA in 2013 and was chosen by the Orlando Magic in the first round. He was the 2nd overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft. He signed a contract with the team in July. He played with the Magic through to 2016. In 2014, he suffered a facial fracture. That year, the team exercised their third-year option on his contract.
In June 2016, Oladipo was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with Ersan Ilyasova. In October of that year, he signed a contract extension with the team that was worth US $84 million. In 2017, the team traded him to the Indiana Pacers.
While with the Pacers, he was named an NBA All-Star for the first time in his career in 2018. In 2019, he was again named to the All-Star team. In January 2021, he was traded to the Houston Rockets as a part of a four-team deal. He was again traded in March, this time to the Miami Heat.
In 2024, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies but he was later waived.
