High School and College Career
He attended Washington High School in his hometown. At the end of his senior year, he was named Indiana Mr. Basketball. He was also named a McDonald All-American. He was also named to the Second-team Parade All-American.
Zeller received several college offers including those from Butler and North Carolina. He committed to play for Indiana University and was coached by Coach Tom Cream. He played for Indiana from 2011 to 2013. He was named 2012’s Freshman of the Year. He was also named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
Professional Career
He declared for the NBA in 2013, forgoing the rest of his college eligibility. He was drafted by the then-Charlotte Bobcats in the first round. He was the fourth overall pick of the draft. They signed him in July of that year. In 2014, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
He continued to be an integral part of the team during his tenure, consistently scoring in the double digits. In 2022, when his contract with the Hornets was up, he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. However, they waived him in February 2022.
From 2021 to 2022, he played for the Portland Trail Blazers. Then in 2023, he briefly signed with the Miami Heat before eventually going to play for the New Orleans Pelicans.
As of the start of 2024, he still plays for the Pelicans.
