High School and College Career
Beal attended Chaminade High School in Creve Coeur, Missouri. While there, he was named the 2011 Mr. Show-Me Basketball. That year, he was also named a McDonald’s All-American and the Gatorade Player of the Year.
Beal committed to play for the University of Florida from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, he was named to the First-team All-SEC.
Professional Career
Beal joined the NBA in 2012. He was chosen third overall in the first round by the Washington Wizards. In his first year in the NBA, he was named to the 2013 NBA All-Rookie First Team.
He unfortunately suffered from injuries from 2014 to 2016, which hampered his performance. He experienced a breakthrough in the 2016-2017 seasons and 2018, he was named an NBA All-Star for the first time.
Beal would be named an All-Star again in 2019 and 2021. Also in 2021, he was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
At the start of 2022, he had to undergo surgery on his left wrist. In July 2022, he signed a 5-year extension with the Wizards. In June 2023, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns along with Isaiah Todd and Jordan Goodwin.
