Chris Webber is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He is a five-time NBA All-Star and he has been named to the All-NBA Second Team thrice. Webber has played for the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, and the Sacramento Kings.

Mayce Edward Christopher Webber III was born on March 1, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan in the United States. He stands 208 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 111 kg.Since he started with the NBA, Webber has been collecting African-American artifacts. In 2007, he unveiled his collection in an exhibition at the Charles H. Wright Museum.
In addition to basketball, Webber has tried his hand at music and has produced a hip-hop record.
High School and College Career
He attended the Detroit County Day School and he was instrumental in helping his team win three MHSAA State Championships. When he was a senior, he was the most recruited player in Michigan since Magic Johnson.After high school, he played collegiate basketball for the University of Michigan. While there, he was named the 1992 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He was also the 1992 USBWA National Freshman of the Year. He stayed with the University for two years.
Professional Career
He declared for the NBA in 1993 and was selected by the Orlando Magic during the NBA Draft. He was the first overall pick. In 1994, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and he was also named the NBA Rookie of the Year.He was later traded to the Washington Wizards and he played with them through to 1998. In 1997, he was named an NBA All-Star for the first time. He would be named an All-Star four more times in his career.
In 1998, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings. He was instrumental in nearly taking the Kings to an NBA Finals. In 2001, he was named to the All-NBA First Team. In 2005, he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. When he became a free agent in 2007, he signed with the Detroit Pistons and was with the team for a short while before returning to Golden State Warriors. By this time, he was having persistent knee problems and had decided to retire. When he retired, the Kings also retired his Jersey Number.
After his career with the NBA, he became an analyst on NBA TV. In 2010, played in the NBA Asia Challenge.
