Chris Dudley

Chris Dudley is a former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association. He played for several NBA teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and the Portland Trail Blazers. He is also a politician in the United States and is a member of the Republican Party. He attended and played college basketball for Yale University from 1983 to 1987 where he earned a Bachelor’s degree.

Christen Guilford Dudley was born on February 22, 1965, in Stamford, Connecticut in the United States of America. He stands 211 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 107 kg. He shoots right-handed and he made his mark as a center and a power forward.

He was diagnosed with Diabetes when he was 16 years old.

He is of Hungarian descent and his paternal grandfather was a US Ambassador who served under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

High School and College Career

He attended Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, California. Later, he committed to attend and play college basketball for Yale University.

While at Yale, he was thrice named to the All-Ivy League team.

Professional Career

In 1987, Dudley joined the NBA, when he was selected 75th overall in the fourth round of the 1987 NBA Draft, selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Dudley would play in the NBA from 2003. Teams he played for include the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns.

He played for the Trail Blazers twice, first from 1993 to 1997 and before he retired from 2001 to 2003. In 1996, he received the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award. That same year, he was also named USA Today’s Most Caring Athlete in 1997 for his charitable contributions.

Dudley scored 3473 points (3.9 ppg), 375 assists (0.4 apg), 1027 blocked shots (1.2 bpg), and 5457 rebounds (6.2 rpg) in a career total of 886 NBA games.

Dudley is also the founder and CEO of The Dudley Foundation, an establishment dedicated to serving kids with diabetes. It provides advocacy, educational programs, support for diabetic research, and helps children to pursue their dreams.
