Sean Anthony Banks is an American professional basketball player who was formerly a player of the NBA Development League’s Tulsa 66ers. Born in 1985 in New York, Sean stands six feet eight inches tall and plays at a forward position. Sean played AAU Basketball for the team of Tim Thomas Playaz.
Sean grew up in Englewood, New Jersey and is a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. In 2004, from the University of Memphis he pursued his passion for basketball, where he was named as the Conference USA Freshman of the year. He had to leave Memphis as a sophomore as he was academically ineligible.
In 2005, Banks was selected by the New Orleans Hornets team as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was actually assigned with the Tulsa team of the Hornets NBDL. The following year, he got waived by the Hornets team and got released by the 66ers. Post his transfer, he spent time playing professionally in other D-League teams and also in Puerto Rico. At present, Sean plays for the Los Angeles D-fenders, which is a professional NBDL team. During his tenure with this team, he won the D-League All-Star Game 08 award for scoring 14 points in New Orleans. He was named at the All D-League First team in 2007-2008.
