The Celtics were looking for a banner night on Tuesday. A win in game 6 of the 2010 NBA Finals would have given the Celtics a record 18th NBA title.
They’ll have to wait until Thursday to get one more chance because the Lakers played much harder in game 6.
The Lakers played with more energy on both ends, and hustled for every loose ball, diving on the floor and sprinting on the fastbreak.
The Celtics showed no heart, or desire, which was immensely puzzling when you realized they were playing for a championship.
The Celtics are an aging team and Thursday might be the last time many of these players have to win basketball’s ultimate prize.
They better play with more focus, because missing almost 10 layups cannot win you games.
The Celtics’ offensive aggression has been very poor, they only shot around ten free throws in game 5, and shot fewer than ten in game 6.
The Celtics know the end is near, in many ways, so one final championship effort will determine their legacies, as individuals and as a group.
