The Philadelphia 76ers are planning a reunion with Allen Iverson, who announced his retirement from professional basketball after no team showed interest to pick him up. An undisclosed insider reported that the Sixers have offered Iverson a non-guaranteed, one-year contract on Tuesday, 1st December, 2009. Iverson played his final game with the Sixers in early December, 2006 after which he was traded off to the Denver Nuggets>.
The 76ers have lost 7 straight games in the ongoing season and have thought of roping in Iverson to ignite dropping ticket sales. If they don’t improve upon their game, the team might even lose their chance to play at the playoffs, and who better than the 10-time All-Star player to boost up the moral.
Iverson has yet to reply to the deal and is expected to come up with an answer on Wednesday, 2nd December, 2009. In case he agrees, Iverson is all set to make his come-back on Monday, 7th December, 2009 against the Nuggets. The coming week will decide upon whether Piston and Nuggets made a right choice in dropping the controversial guard or does Iverson still has got something left of him to show.
