Detroit Shocks the Indiana Fever

Before the NBA gets started on their season, they have several pre-season games to warm up. The WNBA doesn’t have that luxury. Two pre-season games, if they’re lucky, and then on to the season.

So these early games still find the players looking to regain their form from last year, get used to the new rookies, and so on.

This was pretty evident in the game on Wednesday in which the Detroit Shock beat the Fever, 76 -71, in which both teams combined for 48 turnovers.

Attendance at the Auburn Hills Arena was not that great, either, but then, the San Antonio Spurs and La Lakers were playing in the first game of their seven-game series, and the NBA playoffs will simply trump the WNBA for the couple of weeks.

Once the NBA championship has been crowned, WNBA fans will start showing up in droves to support their teams.
