The two best teams in the eastern conference and perhaps the NBA will face each other on opening day. The 2009-2010 season looks to be a great one, as many teams made crucial moves to ensure a successful season.
Many of the teams already successful , made there teams even better, either by signing free agents, drafting solid young players, or acquiring talent via trade.
Two cases of bolstering an already solid roster happened in Boston and Cleveland, and they will open the NBA season October 27, on Turner Network Television.
Cleveland added future hall of fame center Shaquille O’Neal. He gives the Cavaliers championship experience, and a solid low post scoring option.
While the acquisition of O’Neal may clog up the driving lanes to the paint for LeBron James-, Shaq is an improvement at center over Big Z.
The Celtics added veteran forward Rasheed Wallace. Rasheed is a versitle big man who stretches the floor with his ability to shoot the three and defend both the power forward and center positions.
With Garnett coming back from knee surgery which caused him to miss the entire 2009 playoffs, the Celtics addition of Wallace further solidifies a strong front line.
The Celtics also re-signed Glen “Big Baby” Davis to a two year $6 million deal.
The NBA could not have picked a better first game. The two best teams in the NBA faceoff on national television, and one of them will have instant bragging rights.
