Gibson and Williams deliver the goods

On Thursday (28th May 2009) night, Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Orlando Magic by a score of 112-102. The highlight of this game was the play of the two guards, namely, Daniel Gibson and Mo Williams. These two displayed a combined effort of 35 points and 9 3-pointers. During this game, it was being speculated that LeBron James cannot overcome Magic in the absence of some assistance from his team members. mo williams

Williams speaks out

Williams scored 24 points and equaled his career playoff-high. He also displayed 6 of 9 threes. After the victory, he remarked that all throughout the series his team has been discussing how the relieve LeBron from his pressure, make shots and attempt to keep the defense on them. He added that the difference between Cleveland’s other games and this one was that the team was successful in achieving these objectives. Although, their backs were against the wall, Cleveland got big stops and made big shots.

Gibson’s comments

Gibson was 22 minutes off the bench in which he scored 11 points and was 3 of 4 on triples. When the match was over, he said that his team believed that they can’t be beaten unless one team defeats them 4 times. His team had a sort of feeling that the competition in the series is not over. Gibson continued that the issue that was most important and what mattered most was which team is able to withstand the pressures and be on top at the end.
