jayson williams 41-year old Jayson Williams, a former player in the NBA, was arrested after being involved in a fight outside a night club in Raleigh. This is just another courtroom drama in the life of Williams who has spent a considerable amount of time in court ever since his career-ending injury.

At around 2 am, a dispute of some sort led to Williams punching his adversary in the face and was, subsequently, charged with one count of simple assault and released on a bond of $1000. The police claimed that throughout the entire process, the former basketball star was extremely cooperative with the entire procedure.

Williams retired in 2000 and is facing a re-trial on charges of manslaughter. In 2002, the death of Costas Christofi, his driver, is alleged to have been caused by Williams, in his mansion. According to witness’ testimony, Williams was flaunting a 12-gauge shotgun when it accidently went off and he shot his driver.

Although the former NBA star was acquitted on account of aggravated manslaughter, the jury was undecided when it came to reckless manslaughter and since the incident, Williams has been out on bail. Williams has already apologized to Christofi’s relatives while also giving them $2.5 million to settle a civil dispute.

That isn’t the only occasion when Williams has had a brush with the law. A suicidal Williams was zapped by a stun gun after a friend called him in. Bottles of prescribed medication and a number of suicide notes were found.
