Ja Morant Suspended Once More

The Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant once more after the start appeared to flash a gun in an Instagram Live video.

In the Live video, Morant could be seen waving what looked like a gun from the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

The Grizzlies released a statement on Sunday morning regarding the issue saying: “He is suspended from all activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”

NBA spokesperson Mike Bass told ESPN that the League was “in the process of gathering more information.”

Back in March, Morant was also suspended for eight games without pay after a similar situation. He went on Instagram Live at a strip club in Colorado following a loss to the Denver Nuggets. In that live, he flashed what later turned out to be someone else’s gun.

The NBA later investigated the incident and determined that Morant did not possess the gun during travel with the team. He was also not charged.

Before the end of his suspension, he spoke with the press and spoke of the counseling he underwent.

“I don’t have an alcohol problem. I’ve never had an alcohol problem,” Morant said back then.

“I went there for counseling. To learn how to manage stress — cope with stress in a positive way. Instead of, you know, ways I’ve tried to deal with it before that caused me to make mistakes.”
