Curry set a playoff career-high record of 50 points, breaking the one set by Kevin Durant back in 2021. Back then, Durant held the record with 48. Curry was 20 of 38 from the field and 7 of 18 from the 3-point line.
His performance broke the Game 7 record and also made him the first Warrior to score more than 40 in a Game 7.
Also pulling his weight was Kevon Looney with 21 rebounds, 11 points, and 4 assists.
The Kings had led in the first quarter and most of the second quarter and the Warriors were trailing by halftime but Curry turned on the magic in the last two quarters.
The Warriors started to pull ahead of the Kings after halftime and Curry only got hotter in the fourth quarter.
The Game 7 success puts the Warriors at 19-0 in the playoff series against Western Conference opponents.
After the match, Kings’ Domantas Sabonis said:
“They’re a tough team to play, they play a different type of basketball. We match up well, we just didn’t have enough to get it done.”
The Golden State Warriors will play the Los Angeles Lakers on the next round.
