On Saturday, Morant apologized for his actions via a life broadcast on his Instagram page. In his apology, he said that he takes full responsibility for his actions. He also said that he would be seeking help for his behavior.
The Glendale Police Department said in a statement that they were “not able to determine that probable cause existed for the filing of any charges”.
They also confirmed the incident saying that they were an incident that involved “a prominent NBA player singing and holding what appeared to be a firearm by the butt end of a gun”.
It is not against the law to carry a gun in Colorado, with only a few exceptions.
The incident happened a few hours after the Grizzlies lost to the Denver Nuggets 113-97.
In response, the Grizzlies suspended Morant for at least two games. He will be missing their games with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Last Sunday, the Grizzlies lost to the Clippers. They will next face the Lakers on Tuesday.
Prior to his suspension, Morant had been averaging 27.1 points and 8.2 assists per game. He joined the NBA back in 2019 when he was drafted by the Grizzlies 2n overall in the first round.
