Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving’s suspension has been extended as confirmed by Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn.

Vaughn also did not provide a timeline for Irving’s return.

Earlier this month, Irving was suspended by the Nets following his failure to disavow Anti-Semitic sentiments after he posted Anti-Semitic material on his Twitter account.

The team’s recent win against the Los Angeles Clippers was the 5th game that Irving was not able to play for the team. Sunday’s game will be the sixth.

The franchise laid out several stipulations that Irving would have to follow if he is to return to playing with them. One of them is meeting with owner Joe Tsai, which the player reportedly did on Thursday.

No reason was given as to why Irving won’t be returning after 5 games. It is likely that the team just doesn’t want him coming back during an away game.

The team is set to return home on November 20 to face the Memphis Grizzlies. It is yet to be announced if Irving will be playing in that match.

In his absence, the Nets have gone 4-1 and are 6-7 so far this season.

In addition to the franchise-imposed suspension, Irving has also had other fallouts from his posts. Nike has suspended their relationship with the player. In their statement, Nike said:

“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism.”

“We’ve made the decision to suspend our relationship with Kyrie Irving effective immediately.”

Nike had also said that it, “will no longer launch Kyrie 8”.
