Draymond Green has been fined by the Golden State Warriors but not fined for having punched teammate Jordan Poole during a training session.

The Warriors had hoped to keep the issue private but it resurfaced after a video of the altercation was shared online by TMZ Sports.

“This is the biggest crisis we’ve had since I’ve been coach here,” said Steve Kerr, Warriors Coach.

“It’s really serious stuff. We’re not perfect, but we’re going to lean on the experience that we have together over the last nine years and trust that this is the best decision for our team [not to suspend Green],” added Kerr.

In a statement, Green said: “There’s a huge embarrassment that comes with it.”

“Not only for myself, that’s something I’ll have to deal with, but the embarrassment that Jordan has to deal with and that this team has to deal with, this organization has to deal with.”

“Also Jordan’s family - his family saw that video. His mother, his father saw that video,” he added.

Green punched Poole after exchanging words during the practice session. He has taken a few days off from the team but is expected to be back for the pre-season game on Friday.

Kerr who has been handling the team since 2014 said that it was going to be a lot of work if they are to have a successful season.

“I can tell you there have been a lot of conversations,” Kerr said. “It’s been an exhaustive process.”

The Warriors are hoping to move away from the current drama and instead focus on the ring ceremony. Last season, they won their fourth NBA title in eight years after they defeated the Boston Celtics in the Finals.
