The 2015 NBA Finals MVP said that coming to the decision to stay was āa little bit of a rollercoasterāā.
āI had jumped back and forth like two times, and itās literally exhausting to jump back and forth, like alright Iām in and then I worked out like two times and I was like āfor what?ā,ā said Iguodala.
Aside from the encouraging words he received from Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jonathan Kumiga, Igoudala was also encouraged after he had a talk with Rick Celebrini, Vice President of Player Health and Performance.
āIf he had not mapped out that plan I wouldnāt have been as comfortable,Iguodala said. āāI think thatās what kind of sealed the deal.
He had rejoined the Golden State Warriors just last season after spending two years with Miami. He was one of the key players as the Warriors won the title last season.
'āI really just play for the joy of the game,ā he said.
Steve Kerr, Golden State coach was also positive about re-signing Igoudala.
He said: āJust makes my job so much easier because we have so many young guys and they need coaching, they need mentoring. Andreās the best there is with that,*Kerr said. *And he loves working with the younger guys. As a player, he sort of makes everything work because he knows exactly where he needs to be and so he makes every lineup click, and then if heās not on the court heās teaching these young guys the same thing. So Andreās a really crucial part of our whole program, thrilled that heās back.āā
