Brooklyn Nets’ Demands to Boston Celtics for KD Trade ‘Comical’

The Brooklyn Net’s demands to the Boston Celtics on the possible trade of Kevin Durant were reportedly comical. The Nets s

This does make sense for the Nets, after all, Durant is arguably one of the best active players in the NBA today. Last season, the 34-year-old averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.

Other teams who have shown interest in acquiring KD include the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors.

Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reported that despite the demands or maybe because of it, there has not been much traction on the deal.

Himmelsbach also outlined Nets’ demands that appeared to be quite the ask. “According to the source, Brooklyn initially tried to pry both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from Boston,” Himmelsbach wrote.

“That proposal went nowhere, of course. The source confirmed recent reports that Brooklyn later shifted its focus to a deal centered on Brown, Marcus Smart, and a massive haul of future first-round draft picks. But the Celtics were not interested.”

Tatum and Brown are integral to the Celtics lineup and the team is unlikely to blow up their roster just to have a player, even one as good as KD, on board.

The Celtics have been doing really well in the offseason and have acquired Danilo Gallinari and Malcolm Brogdon in the offseason.

Several odd makers have already pegged the Celtics as the favorite going into the 2022-2023 season.

Durant is a great player, but it does not make sense for a team like the Celtics, with their already great lineup, to disrupt things just to acquire him.
