As per ESPN Ramona Shelburne, Embiid had finally agreed to an extension with a $196 million supermax deal until NBA 2026-27. As per reports, Embiid has already accumulated $261 million, where the other $65 million is still the remaining two seasons of his current contract.
The Philadelphia 76ers center has officially announced on Twitter that he is excited to bring the NBA title home. He also shared that he desired to retire with the 76ers.
As per ESPN, the supermax contract doesn’t include catastrophic injuries that he might incur in the game. The 27-year old basketball star has been a runner-up for MVP, which only made him eligible for a supermax contract extension.
Josh Harris, the team owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, was also ecstatic to announce that EMbiid is not going anywhere. He mentioned that Embiid is an elite role model of their community and he executes a character of a true MVP.
Since Embiid’s drafting in 2014, he has shown charismatic appeal on the court. Because he extended his stay with the team, everyone seemed to be grateful and excited to watch him continually in 76ers uniform. It is noted that Embiid had scored 31 points in Philadelphia’s Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks.
Embiid had joined the All-NBA Second Team selection for the third time together with Julius Erving, Billy Cunningham, Allen Iverson, and Charles Barkley.
