The team announced that Iguodala signed a contract with the team on Wednesday, but per team policy, they did not release the terms of the agreement.
With the newly signed deal, the 37-year-old Iguodala now returns to Golden State, which he helped obtain three NBA championships. Iguodala also helped the Warriors reach the NBA Finals five times consecutively, thus becoming the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
Iguodala is an experienced star player, having appeared in 413 regular season games with the Warriors. This included 84 starts over six seasons from 2013 to 2019. He averaged 7.3 points with 3.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.08 steals in 26.7 minutes in all his games with the Warriors.
But in Golden State’s 104 post-season games with 40 starts, his average is 9.3 points, 3.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.17 steals, and 29.8 minutes. Iguodala has also helped Miami reach the NBA Finals during his first season with them in 2019-20. This marked his sixth time appearing in the NBA Finals, the tenth player in all of NBA history to make six consecutive appearances. He joins LeBron James, Bill Russell, James Jones, Sam Jones, and others to have this honor.
In the 17 years of his NBA career, Iguodala has 11.6 points, 4.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.45 steals in 32.5 minutes all through 1 192 games with 784 starts.
