The Phoenix Suns point guard showed an impressive performance in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday, July 6. During the game, he took control of most of the action, snatching up everything.
Paul got his hands on everything, from the mid-range to the three-point-land. The Suns point guard took the lead, scoring a game-high 32 points and 9 rebounds. This was an incredible NBA Finals debut for the little guy, earning the Phoenix a 1-0 lead in this seasons best-of-seven series.
Asked if he does have a small-man complex, the point guard didn’t deny it. Paul shared that he felt it had to be him and that its also who he is. As a little brother, hes had many instances of being told he cant do something. During the draft night, he was told hes Going to be too small.
However, he said it wasn’t just about his complex or anything. Grinding in whatever he does is just part of whoever he always has been. Paul said, if you want something, you’ve got to work for it. He did, and this was evident in Game 1 against the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.
He made sure to keep his top ranking in the race of who will be this seasons NBA Finals MVP. Paul is number 1, while his teammates Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton took the second and third places. The trio from the Suns shows a perfect example of what exemplary teamwork does for everyone.
