Each fan has their own biases when it comes to their favorite teams or players, however, NBA doesn’t tolerate rudeness and violence from fans. The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks had banned a fan whose actions are unbecoming towards Russell Westbrook and Trae Young. NBA also stated in their rules that these fans with such behaviors should be vigorously enforced.
Both incidents happened on a Wednesday on a separate occasion. Atlanta Hawks coach Nate McMillan felt sorry for these players and had noted that they are living in a society, where respect never existed anymore. He thinks that what the Knicks and 76ers did is something that is required to resolve the situation, and these incidents should not be allowed at any sporting event.
One of the fans that got involved in the Westbrook incident is a season ticket holder. As a result of his behavior, tickets have been revoked by the NBA, and he’s also banned from going to any basketball events at their arena. Westbrook was leaving the game after incurring an ankle injury when someone unexpectedly threw the popcorn on him.
Meanwhile, the Knicks had released the names of the fans involved in the spatting incident and they have already forwarded their names to the authorities. The Atlanta Hawks organization had released an apology to Trae Young. Young was also the subject of some Hawks fans in the first two games of the series.
