Knicks Winning Streak Ends as Suns Rise
New York Knicks' Julius Randle (30) looks to pass as Phoenix Suns' Cameron Payne (15) and Cameron Johnson (23) defend in the first half of an NBA basketball game

The New York Knicks’ winning streak has ended after a 118-110 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the NBA on Monday night.

Julius Randle had dominated with six games with 30 or more points from their past seven as the New York Knicks won nine in a row but the Phoenix Suns halted that.

The Suns are second in the West with a 43-18 record and matched up well against the Knicks.

Suns guard Devin Booker scored 33 points, while Chris Paul had 20 points, five rebounds and six assists.

Defensively, Phoenix shut down Randle who could only manage 18 points for the match.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said about Randle: “He’s had an incredible month so he’s going to have a lot of attention that’s going to require a lot of energy.

“He’s double-teamed on almost every play. But he’s in unbelievable shape. He’s our engine, and I have a lot of confidence in him.”

The Knicks run has shot them into playoffs contention with a 34-28 record, making them fourth in the East.

Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons returned as the Philadelphia 76ers got back to winning ways with a 121-90 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Embiid scored 21 points for the 76ers who are second in the East with a 40-21 record.

In the West, the Los Angeles Clippers were toppled 120-103 by the New Orleans Pelicans, with Zion Williamson doing his best to get them into the playoffs with 23 points.

The Los Angeles Lakers were winners with the fit-again Anthony Davis adding 18 points in a 114-103 triumph over the Orlando Magic.
