Stephen Curry’s 11-game 30-plus point run has come to an end as the Golden State Warriors went down to the Washington Wizards in the NBA on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards triumphed 118-114 over the Golden State Warriors with Bradley Beal scoring 29 points and getting 10 rebounds.
Russell Westbrook continued his hot form with another triple-double, with 14 points, 20 boards and 10 assists for the Wizards.
However, Curry couldn’t maintain his scoring streak of 11 games, blanketed by the Wizards throughout the match to finish with only 18 points, scoring only two three-pointers.
“It was a special run,” Curry said post-game. “I never really get hyped up about individual streaks or accolades but there were some historical names from the past. It was something at this age which is pretty special.”
The 33-year-old added: “It was a great run. It’s something I hadn’t done before. It was going to end at some point and now I’ve got to start another one.”
Elsewhere on Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns got past the Philadelphia 76ers 116-113 in a thriller as Joel Embiid had a full-court shot rim out on the buzzer.
Embiid finished with 38 points and 17 rebounds for the 76ers who remain top in the East despite the defeat, as the Brooklyn Nets lost.
The Nets went down 114-103 to the Toronto Raptors with Pascal Siakam dominating with 27 points and nine rebounds.
The New York Knicks are storming into playoffs contention with their winning run extending to seven games after a 137-127 over-time win over the Atlanta Hawks.
