On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics defeated the Houston Rockets by a score of 103-99. For the Celtics, 29 points were contributed by Ray Allen while 14 points and 11 rebounds were added by Kevin Garnett. 9 rebounds and 13 points were displayed by Paul Pierce. For the Rockets, Tracy McGrady added 26 points. Ron Artest managed 15 points and Yao Ming scored 8 points. During the offseason, the Rockets acquired Artest and since then the team has been bold enough to claim that it would contend the NBA title. When the Celtics were ahead by 101-97, McGrady attempted a 3-pointer and at this moment created a foul. He landed on the base in an awkward state and held his sore left knee. Doc Rivers, the Boston coach, claimed that he was attempting to pass and protested. The referees gave McGrady three foul shots and two points due to which the lead of the Bostons was decreased to 101-99. When 9.6 seconds were remnant, two free throws were hit by Eddie House. Further, an airball was shot by Brent Barry which was caught by Garnett> to confirm victory.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, McGrady, Artest and Ming tried a combined 0-for-8. When 3.5 minutes were remaining in this quarter, the Celtics were ahead by 93-86.

Boston’s lead was reduced to 98-95 by Luis Scola who scored two times. When 59.6 seconds were remaining in the game, McGrady could not complete a long jumper.

Artest, a defensive specialist, was a guard to Pierce right from the beginning. Similarly, Kendrick Perkins, 6 feet 10 inches tall, was a guard to Ming.
