Golden State Warriors Injury List is Growing

While the Warriors were never really known for the depth in their roster, their team may now be tested like never before as the NBA Finals moves on to Game 3. This time, the game will be held at the Oracle Arena.

It could be that this is the perfect time for the Raptors as the Warrior’s aging team is slowly breaking down.

According to the reports, it is possible that the first team member who will bow out the series would be Kevon Looney, Warriors’ big man. The Center broke his collarbone, and even missed the second half of Game 2 that was held on Sunday. He broke his collarbone after a big fall during the game.

Next up the list is Klay Thompson who just had an MRI exam. Thompson came down with a mild hamstring strain, so he has been listed as questionable for the game on Wednesday.

With that development, Thompson could be sitting next to Kevin Durant on the sidelines for Game 3. This puts a question to people’s mind over which superstar will be making a return to the court first.

Durant, on the other hand, has been out of commission for around a month due to a partially torn calf muscle. However, according to reports, he is getting better and possibly ready for a return. However, if he is still not cleared for practice on Tuesday, he will be missing out on Game 3. Still, he could come back for Game 4.

With Looney’s absence, much of the weight shifts to DeMarcus Cousins, who also had his share of injuries. Previously, Cousins sat out 6 weeks due to a torn calf. As it is, he is still not in the best condition he could possibly be. Although, he did show excellent play on Sunday with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Aside from Cousins, Andrew Bogut also has had to step up due to Looney’s absence. On the plus side, Bogut brings a type of load from the inside that is not the type that the Raptors are accustomed to.

It remains to be seen how much of an impact these injuries may cost the Warriors. Perhaps it would be through this that the Toronto Raptors will win the trophy on its first appearance on the NBA Finals.
