As the clock ticked to zero and the ball left Kawhi Leonard’s hands to make that one final shot to bring them to victory, the stadium was filled with a roar from people shouting for joy. The Toronto Raptors advances to the Easter conference finals after winning game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Toronto Raptors Makes NBA History

Everybody could feel the tension in the air when the ball left Kawhi Leonard’s hands as he attempted to make one final shot over Joel Embiid at the buzzer. When that ball bounced off of the rim four times before falling in to make that final shot, the stadium was in joyful uproar! Not only was it a buzzer beater for the Raptors, it also made NBA History as the first winning buzzer-beater in a Game 7. What a feat! It was definitely the time for the Toronto Raptors to shine. They advance forward to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Leonard on his Buzzer Beater

Leonard said in a post-game interview that the feeling he felt was great and that it was something he never experienced before. The feeling of a game-winning shot in a Game 7 of the playoffs. According to him, it was a blessing to be able to make that shot and feel the moment.

If Leonard wasn’t able to make that shot, the game would have been tied. Philadelphia’s Jimmy Butler tied the game to 90 with only 4.2 seconds left on the clock. The Toronto Raptors used their last remaining timeout to draw a play for Kawhi Leonard. A play that would give him the chance to make NBA history in a buzzer beater shot.
