A baseball glove or also called a mitt is a large leather padded glove, which defense team members use to help them catch and play. Various occupations include gloves of different shapes and sizes. The word "mitt" is reserved to identify the midfield and the midfield of the catcher. By rule, Fielding should wear traditional gloves, not mats, rather than the first bottom and the catcher with single finger slots.

No law requires that fielders wear gloves or mitts, but it is required by its design. If a fielder drops his glove after a hit or finds himself at the wrong angle to use it, he can have to catch the ball with his hands. By convention, the intended wearer defines the baseball glove instead of the glove hand: a glove fitted to the left hand of a right-handed thrower is called a right-handed glove. The opposite is the left-hand glove on the right, and the player left-hand lets the player throw the ball.

History of Baseball Glove

In 1870, Doug Allison, a catcher for the Cincinnati Red Stockings, was the first man to wear a baseball glove because of a left hand hurt. Charlie Waitt, an outfielder of St. Louis and a first baseman who gave a pair of flesh-colored gloves in 1875, was the first man to use a glove. The glove is slowly being used as more are being used by players up to the present.

Since its introduction, the baseball glove has increasingly expanded. During baseball catches, gloves grew to the size that made it possible to grab the ball in the glove's webbing and use the hand to hold it out of hand. The non-dominant hand typically has a hand, leaving the dominant hand to throw the pitch; for example, the ball's left side is carrying a right-handed player's hand.

Baseball glove has grown dramatically in form and consistency in the last century. It is currently becoming more accurate and useful. The utility and usability of baseball gloves have improved considerably for the general public. There are also modern non-traditional styles of gloves appropriate for non-traditional athletes. Manufacturers are now customizing high-quality players' gloves to help boost national TV exposure. Although the design and development of the baseball glove have made a lot of improvements, the best progress was made in inventing the catcher's mitt.
