Cock-shot, or most commonly known as nutshot, is a slang used in Baseball to describe a belt-high fastball that successfully hits out of the ballpark. This is a typical technique in the early baseball gameplays, where the pitchers can easily serve cock-shot, while the hitters are all over the field. When throwing a cock-shot, it could mean that they have to hit the ball just above the belt, while making less effort to swing the bat. This technique was quite typical during the early baseball years. Interestingly, cock-shot could also mean being hit on the lower part of the groin area.

Cock-shot has been rarely used nowadays, yet if this happened, this could be terrible news for the player, because he might lose his chance of playing for more than a month. This technique is considered a brutal accident for every player. While people outside the baseball field may laugh about it, it's quite hurtful for players to have experienced this. When the pitch comes in at about 102 mph and hits the player's sensitive area, then it's pretty expected that the pain caused by the fastball won't heal any time of the day.

Many people have been laughing about cock-shot, because at some point, this can be hilarious on TV. However, getting a cock-shot doesn't necessarily mean it could get better on the next day. The effect will cause terrible pain to the player that he could barely stand. One of the most popular cock-shot moments was when the St. Louis Cardinal's catcher named Yadier Molina had to miss baseball games for a month after this accident. During his interview, he mentioned that this is one of the worst kinds of accidents he had experienced in his baseball years.

Being hit below the groin area is very sensitive for men because it might take them longer to recover. Some players might have a hard time standing up, so there's no assurance that they could get better by the next day or week. One of the physical effects is the inability to breathe properly because of the tremendous pain they have experienced. If the pain is insufferable, then the player might undergo surgery.
