Blow

A blow in baseball means losing the game after having the lead. It can be because of the batter or the runner.

There are tips you can follow for better hitting or batting to stop a blow from happening.

Have A Firm Front Side?

A firm front side means you have a slightly bent front leg, but this is the leg that keeps the rest of your body and your hands behind the baseball. Having a firm front side will also help you stop your head movement from drastically changing so you can focus on the ball.

It will also serve as a stopper as it will stop your forward momentum. The firm leg will help you with your rotation's axis so you can hit better and with more impact. Speed is also a benefit of this firm stance.

Look at the ball

This might sound so simple, but it is not easy to execute. You need a lot of practice and training for this skill. For you to avoid a blow, you must know how to see the ball. First, you have to focus and check which direction the ball is going to be sure you can hit it. Next, you should never tilt your head to the side, so it doesn't affect how you perceive the ball's direction.

Think of Making a straight line

Make a straight line using your back knee, back hip, and head. It is as if a pole is behind you, and you placed your body against it. From that stance, you should be able to rotate well and get the power you need to hit that ball to prevent it from dropping only in the infield.

Head in The Middle of Your Feet

You should stand as if you are forming a triangle with your feet and head. Being in this triangle position will help you have a stronger swing. You can also rotate with minimal head movement if you follow this position.

A Bent Elbow

What you need to remember, too, is you have your elbow bent and planted firmly against your side. This gives you power because the closer your elbow is to your body, the more power you can make as you rotate. The farther and more straight your elbow is from your body, the lesser the power.
