Major League Baseball (MLB) holds the spot as the oldest of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. Born from the National League (founded 1876) and the American League (founded 1901), MLB has more than 110 years old and is still drawing the biggest number of spectators.

There are 30 teams in American League (AL) and National League (NL) and each league has 15 teams. The two leagues merged in 2000 and became a single organization under the Commissioner of Baseball. The Minor League Baseball, made up of 240 teams connected with Major League Clubs, is also supervised by the MLB. “Major League Baseball” also manages the international World Baseball Classic tournament with the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
