A complete game loss or CGL is a statistic that relates to a pitcher which finishes an entire game without the benefit of a relief pitcher but whose team suffers a loss. Even with a loss, a CGL is still tallied towards a pitcher’s complete game total. This baseball statistic applies to game of nine innings or more, as when extra innings are needed to settle a tie.
