A caught stealing (CS) happens when a runner makes an attempt to steal but is subsequently tagged out before reaching second base, third base, or home plate. With a time caught stealing, the runner is charged and the fielders involved are credited. In baseball, caught-stealing leaders are generally the fastest players because they attempt to steal the most bases.
