Interference is a situation where in a person attempts or manages to change the course of play without following the rules and regulations. If it is caused by a spectator or anyone not associated with both of the teams, it is classified as fan interference. A spectator entering the field and tacking one of the infielders, or a fan attempting to grab a fair or foul fly ball are examples of fan interferences. As a result, the umpire will charge outs or award bases that he deems proper even without the interference. The consequence is ejection from the stadium.
