Intimidation is part of any sport, and in baseball chin music is one of many attempts to discourage a player from a particular action. When a pitcher wants the batter to move back to prevent him from hitting or to cause him to have poorer batting skills, he may opt to throw a pitch near the batter’s face, and this move is known as chin music in baseball slang. This move is tricky as it may result in the player’s ejection. This slang is termed as such to describe the noise made by disappointed fans.
