A bunt is a deliberate move to help advance other fielders to their bases by batting the ball weakly. We can say that it’s a bunt if the infielder holds the bat still and waits for the ball to hit it. It can also be referred to as a sacrifice bunt or a sacrifice hit. Players can successfully drag a bunt to throw the runner out at the first base.
