Also referred to simply as the pen, the bullpen is the area used by catchers and relief pitchers to warm up before joining the game. This is never in fair territory to prevent game interference, and is positioned behind an outfield fence or off to the left or right base line. Alternately, a bullpen can also refer to as a roster of pitchers.
