When a fly ball or a baseball in flight drops between an infielder and outfielder, it is called as a bloop or a blooper. Every sport has a mistake or blooper, and baseball is no exception. This weakly hit ball is a fielding error, and may also occur in any odd play. An example of a blooper is throwing the ball after the batter steps out of the box.
