The difference between runs scored in road games and in home fields is known as the Batting Park Factor. Also interchangeable with BPF and Park Factor, this metric helps asses how much a specific field or ballpark affects a player or a team’s offensive game. The BPF is computed by the runs scored per game on the field over the runs scored per game on the road. A score more than 100 means that the team wins more at their home field. Such parks are thus thought to be pitcher- or hitter-friendly.
