Jason Jerrod Bourgeois is a professional baseball player from the United States of America and is a versatile outfielder who can take up any position, while also spending some time at second base. Bourgeois went to the Forest Brook High School and decided to enter the 2000 Amateur draft right after school, forgoing college.

Bourgeois was picked at 56th overall by the Texas Rangers and joined the Rookie League with the Gulf Coast Rangers. After spending two years in the Rookie League, Bourgeois moved up to the A-League in 2002, and got a promotion to the Advanced A-League for 9 games towards the end of the year. By the end of 2003, Bourgeois was now playing in the AA-League, after recording a .329 batting average that led to his promotion.

However, Bourgeois’ Texas career wouldn’t progress past the AA-League as he was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves in 2005. The Braves put him in the AAA-League but a .240 batting average later, Bourgeois was again on the move, this time to the Seattle Mariners on a Rule 5 Draft. Playing in the AA-League for the Mariners, Bourgeois notched up a .279 batting average but the Mariners decided to release him at the end of the year.

A true baseball traveler, Bourgeois finally settled down upon reaching the Chicago White Sox. For the next two years, Bourgeois would spend his time playing in the AA-League and then in the AAA-League. At the start of 2008, Bourgeois began playing in the Continental League however, 39 games into the season, he was back in the AAA-League with the White Sox. In September, 2008, Bourgeois finally made his Major League debut with the White Sox and became the last player to get his first Major League hit at the original Yankee Stadium.

At the beginning of the 2009 season, the Milwaukee Brewers signed a free-agent Bourgeois to a minor league deal with an invite for Spring Training. Assigned to the Nashville Sounds in the AAA-League, Bourgeois played a 105 games before being called up to replace Bill Hall in the MLB roster.
In October of 2009, the Houston Astros claimed Bourgeois off waivers.
