Franklin M. Morales is a professional baseball player from Venezuela who plays as a pitcher. Morales came into the Colorado Rockies’ farm system as a free agent in 2007. Since then, he has grown into one of their top-most prospects in the organization. His MLB debut came against the Los Angeles Dodgers in August of 2007.
On his debut game, Morales pitched 5 and one-third innings to give away just one run. However, it was his performances in the minor leagues that got him more attention as he was picked for the All-Star Futures Game in 2007.
Starting the 2008 season with the Colorado Rockies, Morales couldn’t carry his minor league form into the majors. By April, he was back with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox where he spent the remainder of the season. Invited to the 2009 Spring Training session, Morales led the team in pickoffs, getting 5 in 28 innings.
