Yonder Alonso is a professional baseball player from Cuba who plays as a first baseman in the Major League Baseball series in the United States of America. Alonso made himself available for the 2005 MLB Draft and was picked by the Minnesota Twins. However, he decided to attend college and went to the Miami University. He played collegiate ball with the Hurricanes and took the team to the number one rank in 2008.
Alonso was known to accompany Alex Rodriguez at the training facilities at Miami University. In 2008, Alonso again appeared in the Draft and this time, picked by the Cincinnati Reds at 7th overall, signed a 4-year MLB contract worth $4.55 million.
