Kevin Richard Hart is a professional baseball player from the USA who plays as a pitcher. A student at the Dallas Jesuit high school, Hart was always a key member of the baseball team, a feature he took into the University of Maryland where his performances caught the eye of the Baltimore Orioles. He was picked at 319th overall, in the 2004 MLB Draft, by the Orioles.

A part of the minor league structure at the Orioles, Hart was traded out to the Chicago Cubs in late 2006 in exchange for Freddie Bynum. Hart made his debut when the rosters were expanded in 2007. At the time, he was a part of the AA-Tennessee Smokies. He made his debut on the same day as his call up and was asked to relieve Will Ohman in the 8th innings against the Dodgers. The bases were loaded, with no outs, nothing tougher could be imagined. He ended the game with two innings pitched, three strikeouts, one hit and no runs conceded.

Hart was regularly used by his manager, despite his inexperience, during the pennant run and was part of a number of close finishes. He was quite impressive on his outings and became one of the 11 pitchers on the playing roster for the Cubs. In the 8 appearances during the playoffs, Hart ended up with an 0.82 ERA from 11 innings, with 13 strikeouts.
