Angel Moises Guzman is a professional baseball player from Venezuela and is a pitcher in the Major League Baseball series in the United States. As an 18-year old, Guzman made his debut in Venezuela for La Pradera. His summer league showing finished with a 1-1 record and a 1.93 ERA. He moved to the Boise Hawks in 2001 and had a 9-1 record with a 2.23 ERA. He had 63 strikeouts in the 77 innings that he pitched in and had 19 walks. He was second overall in the Northwest league in ERA while he led the wins-category in the league. He made it to the All-Star team as the right-handed starter.

Guzman joined the Chicago Cubs' farm system in 2002 and had a 5-2 record with a 1.89 ERA while playing with the Lansing Lugnuts. He then played for the Daytona Cubs and had a 6-2 record with a 2.39 ERA. In 2003, he played for the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and had a 3-3 record with a 2.81 ERA while striking out 87 batters and walking 26, in his 90 innings. He was picked to play in the All-Stars Futures Game but due to an injury to his right shoulder, couldn't play any part.

Guzman had a forgettable 2004 season with a 5.06 ERA and a 0-3 win-loss record for the Diamond Jaxx. With the Daytona Cubs, it was marginally better, although not so good, with a 4.20 ERA in 11 starts, with a 3-1 record. He moved to the AZL Cubs the following season and just played 4 games for the team, while playing two for the Peoria Chiefs. His move to the AAA-league finally came in 2006 after he joined the Iowa Cubs. He finished with a 4-4 record and a 4.04 ERA. He played for the Chicago Cubs in the Major League, making 15 appearances that included 10 starts. He went 0-6 and had a 7.39 ERA but his only glimmering hope was his strikeout record that was at more than one per inning.
