Mark Reynolds
Mark Andrew Reynolds is a Major League baseball player from the United States of America. He went to the First Colonial High School in Virginia, play baseball for the team, before attending the University of Virginia. He played as a shortstop, primarily, during his high school and college games before being drafted in the 16th round of the 2004 MLB Draft, 476th overall, by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
His Major League debut came only in 2007 after he had played with the AA-Mobile teams. His stint at the Major League was an instant hit, quite literally as he had 14 runs in his first 15 games. His season ended with Reynolds placed third amongst that National League rookies in terms of strikeouts, just 129; he was fourth in the runs scored list, with 62; he was again fourth in the number of triples hit, with 4, and was tied for sixth place in home runs, with 17.
In the National League Division Series, Reynolds hit a home run in the 7th inning to take the Diamondbacks to a 3-1 win.
In 2007, he had the infamous record of being struck out 204 times in the entire season. His fielding percentage was .904, the lowest of all third-basemen in the National League.
